Dr. Ronald Hugar is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon. He has been practicing podiatry since 1983 and is passionate about helping his patients achieve their optimal foot and ankle health.

He attained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from William M. Scholl College Of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at both Kindred Hospital in Chicago and Loretto Hospital. Following his residency, he was a managing partner of Hugar Foot & Ankle Specialists until he joined Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in 2024.

He is ABFAS Board Certified and is a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He also remains a member of the Illinois and American Podiatric Medical Associations.

Dr. Hugar has an extensive background in podiatry and served as Loretto Hospital’s past director of the Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency Program and Rush Oak Park Hospital’s past chairman of the Section of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. He also is a staff member at Gottleib Memorial Hospital.

Outside of his clinical experience, Dr. Hugar is also a teacher, lecturer, and author. He is an off-site clinical professor for IL, PA, FL, IA, OH, & AZ Colleges of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Hugar supports patients in both English and Spanish.
