Dr. Jeffrey Baker is a Foot & Ankle Surgeon at Weil Foot & Ankle.
Originally from Albany, NY, Dr. Baker moved to Chicago in 2003. He is a 1992 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Athletic Training and Cardiovascular Health and Exercise. While there, he also played four years of varsity soccer. In 2000, Dr. Baker graduated from the now-Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 2003. He then followed his residency with a one-year fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Des Plaines, Illinois. He is board-certified in foot and ankle surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.
Dr. Baker has been in private practice at Weil Foot & Ankle since 2004. His specialties include Reconstructive Foot & Ankle Surgery (sprain/stabilization), Sports Medicine (Soccer, Running), Foot & Ankle Trauma (Ankle Sprains, Foot & Ankle Fractures), Arthroscopic Foot & Ankle Surgery, Lapiplasty Bunion Correction, MIS Bunion Correction, and EPAT/Shockwave.
Prior to becoming a podiatric physician, Dr. Baker spent four years as the athletic trainer at Westwood High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. While working as an athletic trainer, Dr. Baker treated a large number of foot and ankle athletic injuries and subsequently decided to pursue a career in podiatry. Today, he is currently the team podiatrist for North Park University Athletics. In addition, he is the podiatry co-coordinator for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and also works as a podiatry consultant for several Chicago area soccer clubs.
Currently, Dr. Baker is on the Board of Directors for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Baker and his wife Jessica love to enjoy their neighborhood with their son Tyler. Dr. Baker continues to play competitive soccer for Green White Soccer Club in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
Dr. Baker is currently the team podiatrist for North Park University Athletics.
