Dr. Frank Bongiovanni was inspired to become a podiatrist by his father, who worked for the Dr. Scholl company making orthotic shoes. Today, Dr. Bongiovanni is an associate professor at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and a practicing board-certified physician at Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.

In addition to general podiatry training, Dr. Bongiovanni is board-certified in pedorthics, which is handmade custom orthotics, braces, shoes, and/or shoe customization to correct issues with the foot or ankle. In fact, one of Dr. Bongiovanni’s orthotic devices once was used by a mountaineer scaling Mt. Everest! He also specializes in bunion, hammertoe, and plantar fasciitis surgeries and using the Lunula laser to treat fungal nails.

Dr. Bongiovanni is part of several charitable organizations, including the Sister Paulanne Needy Family Fund, the Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, and the Chicago Proton Center. He believes in the power of diet and exercise as a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

Outside of work, Dr. Bongiovanni loves tennis, paddle tennis, and is a Peloton enthusiast. He has been married for 24 years to his lovely wife Claudia and they have two amazing independent daughters who are both on their high school tennis team.

Dr. Bongiovanni supports his patients in both English and Italian, and he has a working knowledge of Spanish.
