Dr. Ersta Ferryanto is a podiatric physician with Weil Foot & Ankle Institute.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia in 2016 before receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery in 2021. Dr. Ferryanto completed his residency at Ascension Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago in 2024, where he served as Chief Resident. During his training, he developed advanced expertise in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, minimally invasive techniques, diabetic limb salvage, and complex wound care.
Dr. Ferryanto’s practice philosophy centers on getting you back to what matters, fast. He uses minimally invasive foot and ankle surgery techniques whenever possible, planning each procedure around early return to sport and the earliest safe return to work. For patients dealing with chronic or non-healing wounds, he goes beyond wound management alone, applying tendon balancing techniques and minimal-incision reconstruction to address the underlying biomechanical cause and help prevent wounds from returning. Whether you’re an athlete eager to compete again, a professional who can’t afford extended time off, or a patient seeking limb-preserving wound care in Chicago, his goal as your foot and ankle doctor is the same: durable results with the shortest recovery possible.
Outside of work, Dr. Ferryanto enjoys exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods and restaurants with his wife. Born in Indonesia and having lived in Germany and Canada before settling in the United States, he brings a global perspective and appreciation for people from all backgrounds. He is also a dedicated educator who lectures at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and is the co-founder of StepUpBoards.com, a podiatry-specific educational platform that helps residents and attending physicians prepare for their ABFAS board examinations.
