Dr. David A. Gerst has always had two interests: medicine and sports. It was only natural that this would lead him to combine those two passions by pursuing a career in podiatry.
For 30 years, Dr. Gerst has been helping Chicagoans with their foot needs through his podiatry practice. Dr. Gerst earned his bachelor’s degree at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.
He has been treating Chicagoland patients for their foot problems since 1990. Dr. Gerst is also board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Gerst also never gave up his love of sports and athletic activities. He has competed in a whopping 21 Ironman Triathlons, including one in Kona, HI in 2005.
Dr. Gerst’s specialties include diabetic foot care, surgery, and sports medicine.
He is also an avid runner, having completed nine marathons, including the 100th Boston Marathon in 1996. If he’s not running, swimming or biking, you might find Dr. Gerst enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and three children.
Dr. Gerst is accepting new patients!
