Dr. Baker, a Fellowship Trained Foot & Ankle Surgeon with Weil Foot & Ankle Institute, is accepting new patients!
Originally from Albany, NY, Dr. Baker moved to Chicago in 2003. He is a 1992 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Athletic Training and Cardiovascular Health and Exercise. While there, he also played four years of varsity soccer. In 2000, Dr. Baker graduated from the now-Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgery residency at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 2003. He then followed his residency with a one-year fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Weil Foot & Ankle Institute in Des Plaines, Illinois. He is ABFAS® Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (RRA).
Prior to becoming a podiatric physician, Dr. Baker spent four years as the athletic trainer at Westwood High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. While working as an athletic trainer, Dr. Baker treated a large number of foot and ankle athletic injuries and subsequently decided to pursue a career in podiatry. Today, he is currently the team podiatrist for North Park University Athletics. In addition, he is the podiatry co-coordinator for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and also works as a podiatry consultant for several Chicago area soccer clubs.
Dr. Baker provides expert care in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, and trauma. He has extensive experience treating ankle sprains, fractures, and deformities with advanced techniques including arthroscopy, Lapiplasty® bunion correction, minimally invasive surgery, and shockwave therapy. He is board certified by ABFAS® in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (RRA).
Dr. Baker is a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine (AAPSM), with a particular focus on soccer, running-related injuries, and stabilization procedures.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Baker is committed to advancing foot and ankle care through research and education. Dr. Baker and his wife Jessica love to enjoy their neighborhood with their son Tyler, and he continues to play competitive soccer for Green White Soccer Club in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
Dr. Baker is currently the team podiatrist for North Park University Athletics.
