Update for Our Valued Patients Regarding Health & Safety Precautions

As your Podiatrist, we want you to know that we are closely monitoring the spread of the coronavirus through the world and our community. The health and safety of our patients and their families, along with our staff and their families, are our primary concern. We will continue to do what is deemed best for the health of our patients and our community.

At this time, we will continue to follow the CDC, WHO, federal and state guidelines and keep our office open to care for patients. Remember, proper handwashing, wearing face coverings, and social distancing are the best levels of defense against the spread of COVID-19 from person to person. In the interest of social distancing, we are taking immediate action to reduce the number of people in our office at a given time. To that end, we ask only the patient to come to the office for their visit, unless they are bringing their child who is the patient or they are a caregiver of the patient. Except for our youngest patients and initial consultations, we will ask that the patient is the only member of the family to come back to the treatment area and that other family members wait in the car if possible or in the reception area. While in the reception area, please try to keep 6-10 ft from other people at all times.

Please see some additional information below:

*It is currently optional for patients and anyone accompanying them to wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth.  We are unable to issue surgical masks to patients at this time.

*If the patient or any member of the family has been recently ill (fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath), please reschedule your appointment.

*If the patient or a family member has had direct or indirect contact with someone who has traveled to one of the CDC Level 3 countries within the past 14 days, please let us know and call to reschedule your appointment.

*As we all work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are proud to offer patients the option of TeleHealth appointments with our physicians from the comfort of your home. A telehealth appointment can occur using a personal computer (equipped with a webcam) or a smartphone. If you would like to schedule a TeleHealth appointment with one of our providers, please call 757-384-6608.

Our policy and procedures have not changed due to COVID-19. We have always used CDC and OSHA-mandated cleaning and disinfection protocols for all surfaces in our office and treatment rooms. We use a bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal, and tuberculocidal disinfectant recommended for medical facilities and hospital surgical rooms. Anything reusable that comes in contact with our patients is sterilized in our medical autoclave.

Again, our utmost priority is to maintain our patients’ health and safety and 1Foot 2Foot Team. We are following updates from the CDC and WHO. As new information and protocols arise, we will help to inform you of any updates or changes in our schedules. If you have any questions, please contact us at 757-384-6608.
