Dr. Jay Berenter provides excellence in all aspects of foot and ankle care. In addition to being the founder of SoCal Foot Care, Dr. Berenter is a recognized leader and innovator of cutting-edge techniques in bunion and forefoot surgery. He began practicing medicine in 1985. Since then, Dr. Berenter has brought world-class foot and ankle care to Southern California. He also was the first podiatrist to operate at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California, where he served as the first Chief of Podiatry in the Orthopedic Department. Dr. Berenter has developed a reputation as a “Doctor’s Doctor,” providing kind and compassionate medical care to all in the community including many fellow physicians and their families with whom he works.
As a leader in the Southern California sports medicine community, Dr. Berenter has treated many professional, Olympic, and high school athletes who compete at the highest levels. Dr. Berenter has had the pleasure to serve as a consultant to many United States National teams including USA Softball, USA Field Hockey, USA Soccer, USA Rowing, USA Track and Field, and USA Race Walking. Dr. Berenter has served as a consultant to the athletic teams of the University of San Diego, the University of California San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University, and the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.
