Dr. Neilda “Cassie” Erickson, DPM, is a podiatrist at the University Foot & Ankle Institute. A Boston native, she developed an interest in biomechanics and sports medicine following an injury during her athletic pursuits as a teenager.
She completed her fellowship training under Dr. Bob Baravarian in Los Angeles. Dr. Erickson specializes in general podiatry such as ingrown toenails, heel pain, skin conditions, tendon and joint conditions, as well as fall risk assessments. She has special interest and deep training in diabetic wound care, trauma, and sports medicine. She provides nonsurgical and surgical treatment options for her patients at the Sherman Oaks location. During her residency, Dr. Erickson was one of five ACFAS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholars in an applicant pool of over one hundred for excellence in the community, commitment to serving those less fortunate and resiliency in overcoming financial hardship.
She completed her undergraduate degree in anthropology and pre-medicine at Tufts University in Medford, MA before completing podiatry school at Kent State University in Independence, OH. Her residency was completed at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA.
Outside of work, Dr. Erickson enjoys personal fitness, being outdoors, and considers herself a tea connoisseur having tried more than 500 varieties from dozens of countries.
