Dr. Randy Anderson earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Florida and his medical degree from the William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Before coming to Mount Vernon he worked for the Department of the Army as a civilian physician at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. Dr. Anderson established his podiatry practice in Mount Vernon in 1992. He was in solo practice until 2003 when he joined Skagit Island Orthopedics. He re-established private solo practice in 2008. Dr. Anderson is active in the local hospitals establishing and serving as the initial Chair of the Podiatry Section at Affiliated Health Services and later Skagit Valley Hospital, Chair of the Department of Surgery, Chief of Staff at Affiliated Health Services and at Peace Health United General Hospital and is on the Credentials Committee at Skagit Valley Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Anderson was initially appointed by the Governor to the Washington State Board of Podiatry 2012-2017 and was the Chair of the Board having been reappointed through 2022.

He loves to spend time with family and friends, travel, watch rugby, fish and hunt. His wife Rose is the practice manager and he has three children. His youngest daughter lives in Hawaii, his son lives and works locally and his eldest daughter is married and a Pediatrician in Springfield, Illinois.
