Dr. Misha Tavaf is a Bay Area native and currently serves as the president of Santa Clara Valley Podiatric Medicine Society.
She attended the University of California Davis for her undergraduate degree in exercise biology with a minor in psychology. She received her doctorate in podiatric medicine degree from Barry University in Miami where she graduated with honors. She then finished her surgical residency at the DVA Palo Alto Medical Center, and training at Stanford Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident.
She specializes in reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, trauma, and limb salvage. She is highly trained in arthroscopy procedures, 3D bone replacements, Lapiplasty, and minimally invasive surgery. She has extensive experience in wound care, application of full thickness/split thickness grafts and flap reconstruction and has mastered complex deformity corrections.
Dr. Tavaf is passionate about building a patient-physician relationship based on trust, where patients are confident to tailor their care to their needs so that they can focus on healing and gaining back their mobility. She is committed to staying up to date on new research and surgical techniques and is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery to be able to always provide the best care available for her patients.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending her time skiing, playing tennis and Latin ballroom dancing. She loves traveling and learning about different cultures and cuisines. She loves cooking Persian food for her friends and family. She truly enjoys and has extensive experience working with adults and children with down syndrome, autism and learning disabilities.
She supports patients in English, Farsi, and French.
