Dr. Meaghan Wood is a podiatric physician with Bay Area Foot Care.
She earned a Bachelor of Science with dual majors in Exercise Science and Dance from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. Her experiences as a dancer inspired her interest in foot and ankle health, leading her to pursue a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 2021. Dr. Wood completed her residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Wood provides comprehensive foot and ankle care with expertise in both conservative and surgical treatment. Her clinical interests include reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, minimally invasive surgery, sports medicine, trauma care, diabetic foot care, wound management, pediatric podiatry, and bunion correction. Drawing on her background in dance medicine and movement science, she takes a compassionate and individualized approach to care, helping patients recover from injury, improve performance, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
Outside of work, Dr. Wood enjoys staying active in local dance communities, exploring national parks, surfing, participating in mountain sports, and spending time with her dogs. She also contributes to On Pointe Podiatry, a blog dedicated to dance and sports medicine, where she shares educational insights on injury prevention, performance, and foot and ankle care for dancers.
