Helene Cook, DPM

Dr. Helene Cook is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon devoted to high-quality medical and surgical patient-centered care. Originally from the Southern California area, she is excited to be back in her home state to take care of patients.

Dr. Cook received her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UCLA graduating with college honors and a minor in Biomedical Research. Following graduation, she continued her medical education at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine – Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois, graduating with Phi Delta honors.

Dr. Cook went on to complete a rigorous surgical residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. where she served as the Chief Resident. Throughout residency, she received extensive training in all areas of foot and ankle reconstruction working under a large number of the nation’s top foot and ankle surgeons.

Dr. Cook then decided to further expand her skill set by completing advanced training as a Fellow at Shasta Orthpaedics in Redding, California. She trained under the top musculoskeletal and orthopaedic specialists in the field with a focus on total ankle replacements and orthopedic reconstruction.

Dr. Cook is Board Qualified in both foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Her training strongly focused on trauma, elective reconstruction, arthroscopy, total ankle replacement, limb deformity correction, and limb salvage. She has had numerous publications in the field of Foot and Ankle as well as has given multiple podium presentations at the local and national conference level.

Outside of work, Dr. Cook enjoys staying active through running, biking, and lifting weights. She also likes attending sporting events, traveling abroad, and tending to her multiple plants and succulents.
