Dr. Krista Kotzeva is a Wisconsin native and a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon.
Dr. Kotzeva attained her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin Parkside before moving on to Barry University School of Medicine to attain her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. She then completed a three-year surgical residency at McLaren Macomb. Following residency, she pursued an additional year of advanced fellowship training. She completed her fellowship training at Pennsylvania Intensive Lower Extremity Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA where she worked in a high surgical volume orthopedic group.
During her fellowship and in private practice, Dr. Kotzeva gained experience in flat and cavus foot reconstruction, pediatrics, sports medicine, ankle stabilization and tendon injuries, complex revision foot and ankle cases, and 3D bunion correction. During fellowship, she also focused on total ankle joint replacement while training under the highly sought-after foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Jason R. Miller.
Though trained in the most advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Kotzeva only recommends surgery when indicated and believes there are many conditions that can be alleviated with conservative treatment. Dr. Kotzeva is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Kotzeva has a passion for education. She believes in giving back to the medical field and the local community. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and working out.
