Jack Schuberth, DPM

Jack Schuberth, DPM

LOCATIONS:

Dr. Jack Schuberth grew up in Chicago, and his path to podiatry came through his graduate school studies on molecular genetics, and m-RNA in the liver. One of his major professors had a keen interest in foot anatomy and so while Dr. Schuberth was waiting for the results of some of his experiments in molecular genetics, he studied foot anatomy and became interested in the clinical side of the foot and ankle.

He attended the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine for his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree and then moved to Seattle for residency. Upon completion of residency, he moved to San Francisco, where he remains today.

Today Dr. Schuberth is a world-renowned foot and ankle surgeon and is board-certified in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. Dr. Schuberth regularly demonstrates a meticulous attention to detail and demands excellence from his trainees, while always expressing his appreciation for their work.

His work has drawn world-renown and patients seek out his expertise as an absolute authority in Total Ankle Replacement and other advanced foot and ankle treatments.

Dr. Schuberth has personally performed over 1,600 ankle replacement procedures with over 400 hundred revisions. He has pioneered many of the techniques used today in revision surgery. Total ankle replacement is his professional passion and was the most compelling reason to return to work after 38 years at Kaiser Permanente.

Dr. Schuberth has published extensively on many subjects in Foot and Ankle Surgery. In particular, he has published many papers on Total Ankle Replacement techniques and results and is intimately involved with industry for total ankle education and implant design.

Outside of work, Dr. Schuberth enjoys travel, food, wine, and playing live music (electric guitar). His wife and he are empty nesters as of August 2023. Their son is attending Purdue University in a premed/biological health program.
