Years In Practice
Foot and Ankle Treatment in the Silicon Valley
The Podiatrists at Foot and Ankle Associates are uniquely trained to treat all foot and ankle disorders. Preparatory education for most Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) consists of 4 years of pre-med undergraduate studies, followed by 4 years of coursework in an accredited podiatric medical school. After this, graduates attend a 2 or 3 year hospital-based residency. They then must sit for a state licensing exam. Podiatrists are well-versed in sports medicine, biomechanics, radiology, dermatology, and surgery relating to the foot and ankle.
Drs. Cornelison, Elardo, Howard, An, Sheth and Lee are an integral part of the healthcare team, working with other medical specialists and primary care physicians, with a common goal of keeping people healthy.
EPAT (Extracorpeal Pulse Activation Technology) is a completely non-invasive treatment with no dangerous side effects. EPAT is proprietary technology that uses acoustic pressure waves to activate biologic and angiogenic responses.
Amniotic Stem Cell Injection
Amniotic stem cell therapy is a very safe and effective treatment. The fluid contains the growth factors that help to stimulate tissue growth, stem cell activity and naturally reduce inflammation.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP has been used to treat tendon, ligament, cartilage and bone injuries, as well as arthritis. PRP is used for treatment of tendon and ligament injuries such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon and ankle ligament injuries.
