Rena Ribeiro is an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) with a skilled background in the specialty of upper extremity rehabilitation. Rena’s aspiration is to become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Rena has worked under mentorship of five CHT’s to develop her knowledge in treating patients with orthopedic conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.
Starting at Santa Rosa Junior College, she then transitioned to San Francisco State University to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During her time at San Francisco State University, she concurrently attended Community College of Marin to complete pre-requisite courses for her graduate program. This led her to become one of the youngest in her class at Dominican University of California where she graduated with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2022.
Rena’s passion for serving the older adult population led her to become an OT. During her graduate program, she founded and became club President of SI-SIGA that focused on the importance of caring for the aging population. After taking a course in hand therapy and splint fabrication, she developed a passion for upper extremity rehabilitation. Since graduating she has attended the Hand Therapy Association of California conference to continue increasing her skillset in treating orthopedic conditions. She also has worked at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital providing experience with Neurological conditions including SCI, TBI, and CVA.
As an occupational therapist, she is Physical Agent and Modalities Certified.
In her free time, Rena loves spending time with her husband and senior dog Alvin, hiking, learning a new language, and traveling.
