Dr. Fernando Ramirez was born and raised locally in Petaluma, California. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of San Diego where he received both a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During his undergraduate studies he spent a semester abroad in Sydney, Australia where he worked on a variety of research projects.
Dr. Ramirez graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine. During his time in medical school, he received multiple academic scholarships, held several leadership positions and published numerous research articles. He was the Director of the Clinica Tepati – a student run clinic in collaboration with UC Davis Medical School which provided medical services to the underserved community of the greater Sacramento Area. This position was very fulfilling in that it allowed Dr. Ramirez to give back to his community something that he is very passionate about.
After graduation he attended residency at Kaiser San Francisco Bay Area Foot and Ankle, a highly surgical and demanding program. Throughout residency he completed multiple research studies and presented them at national conferences. He was also able to complete a month-long lower extremity reconstruction fellowship in Lugano, Switzeerald with Dr. Kaj Klaue MD.
Outside of Medicine Dr. Ramirez enjoys spending his free time outdoors fishing, hiking and snowboarding with his family and friends.
