Alexander Lister, DPM, is a dedicated podiatrist on the team at Bay Area Foot Care. Dr. Lister is proud to partner with patients throughout Sacramento, California, for all of their podiatry needs.
Dr. Lister always knew he wanted to be a physician. At an early age, he attended medical appointments with his grandmother, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Those experiences sparked his interest in the field of medicine.
Native to Sacramento, Dr. Lister attended Center High School and American River College. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). It was there, at UCLA, where he discovered podiatry. In realizing he could provide a vital service to the diabetic community, his aforementioned interest in medicine transformed into a passion for Podiatry.
After obtaining his medical degree at the Western University School of Podiatric Medicine in Southern California, Dr. Lister spent his residency caring for veterans through the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System. His training involved diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, and trauma from medical rotations at Stanford University and Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Lister’s philosophy of care is grounded in collaboration and innovation. As such, he provides patients with the necessary information to make decisions that are optimal for their health. He believes that treatment should be tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each individual. His commitment to quality care includes staying current on emerging technologies and developments in the industry.
Dr. Lister is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, and the California Podiatric Medical Association. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, exercising, watching basketball, and traveling.
